STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION

STENOGRAPHER GRADE(C&D) EXAMINATION, 2012

SSC conducted this examination on 29th of July, 2012 all over the country at various centres. 2,18,535 candidates appeared in this examination.
Now 7576 candidates declared provisionally qualified in the written part of examination for skill tests for the of Stenographer Grade C and 42945 candidates in Grade D.

This skill  test are scheduled to commence from 29th september, 2012.



Skill Test in Stenography:
  1. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only.
  2. Candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English?Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m for the post of Stenographer Grade "C" and 80 w.p.m for the post of Stenographer Grade "D" and timing as described:       English-40 minutes, Hindi-55 minutes for Grade "C"       English-50 minutes, Hindi-65 minutes for Grade "D".
  3. There is no exemption from Skill Test for any category of candidate.
  4. If the candidate had not indicated the medium of Stenography Test at relevant place in the appliation form, the Commission will consider English as the medium for such candidates and candidates will not allowed to change the medium at that stage.
  5. VH candidates will be required to transcribe the matter in 75 minutes for English Shorthand or in 100 minutes for Hindi Shorthand  for the post of Grade "D" and in  70 minutes for English Shorthand test and in 95 minutes for Hindi Shorthand test for the post of Grade "C".
  6. The Skill Test will be held at Commission's Regional Offices or at other centres as may be decided by the Commission.
